Sour Trilly

Mmm I was waiting for some proper sour to cross my path and here we are. Thanks to the cultivators for bringing back some old gems. I’d like to see these crossed to the best of the new new and see what comes of it.

Anyway, I ripped this bag open eagerly and the smells of a stale refrigerator, sweaty gym, and gas station assaulted my nostrils in a whirlwind of FUNK. It’s like a cocktail of expired fruits, dirty gym socks and an Evergreen forest but the sap from the evergreens is actually gasoline🔥

Now as far as looks go, there’s not a LICK of purple in this gal. Super green buds with a forest of foxtails dancing around one another. Resin coverage is plentiful & humidity is on point.

The nose out the bag wasn’t as loud as I was expecting it to be. This isn’t dumbing it down though, as it was noticeable the second I opened the bag. That being said though, once you break this girl down she really shines and stinks up the room. The dirty gym sock terp gets over shadowed by a wonderful storm of sour fruits and diesel fuel.

This flower was real sticky icky as well. I didn’t have to do much when rolling as she stuck together effortlessly. A quick shimmy and tuck and she was ready to smoke.

The nose translated pretty well to palate. The sour from the rotten fruit terp, the gym sock funk, and OG gas came together strong on this flavor. It’s pretty complex and everything was pretty evenly mixed in together. But at the exhale there’s a very distinct buttery finish that I personally love. It lingers on the tongue and felt like I got teleported back in time.

Effects are heavily “sativa” leaning and very uplifting. I only smoked this in the mornings before work and it greatly assisted productivity and mood.

Man this was definitely a blast from the past. I love seeing the trends in consumer demands and seeing the cultivators follow through on strain requests etc. I feel like about 6-9 months ago a lot of my homies went back to saying they miss the OGs and the Sour D’s and the Blue Dreams and all that. Fast forward to now I’ve seen countless names in the industry announce they’re bringing back some sort of Sour or OG and Im fucking with the nostalgic vibes for sure.

I asked Shopping Carts about what happened to the original Sour back when he posted that he was running some NYC diesel and he said it burned down in a fire. Allegedly NYPD raided the grow and burned everything – all the plants in flower, the clones and the mothers. Whether that’s 100% true or not I can’t say for certain but f*ck NYPD either way it wouldn’t surprise me if they did.

As I said before, after this OG wave I’d like to see the best of the old school come together with the best of the new school. There’s heavy saturation in the market for candy terps & I’d love to see someone come out with a proper Sour Candy strain and a proper Candied Gas that’s equal parts of each.
