The full strain review of Treehouse OG by Treehouse Exotix
Treehouse whipped up some beautiful black jars and gold labels for this flower and the flower is well deserving of it. The nugs are large in size and tightly structured but are fluffy to the touch. Humidity was on point and the bud was wonderfully fresh. While OG isn’t the prettiest cultivar overall, this one still had me staring at the glistening trichomes covering the beautifully stacked nugs for a while.
Upon opening this beautiful jar, a wave of fresh pine/juniper hits your nose like a mountain mixed with something like the scent of a new book. Somewhere in there is a hint of sweetness like a lavender flower.
After grinding it, the sweeter side of the bud comes out a bit more, still a strong fresh pine smell but now with and added lavender cookie dough & sour new shoe rubber scent.
On the inhale I get a smooth rich tongue coating vanilla/lavender/oatmeal cookie taste that quickly begins to blend with a sour cheesy/new shoe rubber taste midway through the hit. On the exhale the flavor begins change a more refreshing pine flavor with a hint of mint. At points it reminds me of a more woody tasting piece of wintergreen gum. The orders of the flavors in the hit also seemed to switch up for me, sometimes the sweetness would hit first, other times it was more of an after taste. Very complex flavor for a classic cultivar.
The flower burns smoothly throughout the j, easy and smooth inhales and a pressure that pounds your chest as you exhale. Ash is bit spotty but overall clean and not a problem with the way this hits. This flower did not disappoint with its power. Full body, heavy relaxation that has me wanting to lay in bed for at least an hour after. One of the few cultivars I’ve had lately that really does the job before bed.
Overall I really loved this flower and it’s changed my taste up a bit since I grabbed it. Definitely more of a pure earthy taste but it packs a punch that does exactly what I’d like it to. Brings me back to everything that originally made me appreciate cannabis.
